I remembered seeing some art related threads in the past, so I figured I should throw this out here.
I entered a contest for making comic books. I jumped in a little late in the competition, but that's okay. If nothing else it's nice to have an excuse to work. There needs to be at least 3 episodes to so much as be eligible to be picked for round two. So I've been working the last 4-5 days trying to get some things happening. I just got the second episode up earlier today.
It would mean a great deal to me if anyone from this community moseyed over to the link I will provide below and took a look and rated and liked the comic. Obviously ratings of 10 would be incredibly helpful and appreciated. And the little heart icon next to the episode names I believe helps in the "popularity" ranking. It's a whole thing. I don't know what I'm saying.
Anyway, to anyone who wants to, here is a synopsis and a link, and thank you thank you.
The Pilot In the fall of 1948, a crop dusting pilot loses control of his plane and is swallowed by a great cloud. He awakens in a place entirely unfamiliar. His vessel crippled and sunk into a grey cloud, he must carefully venture out into this quiet and delicate world to discover whatever strangeness and mystery slinks in the ever-changing landscape. His story is told primarily through his often tender and abrupt journal entires.

You really know how to tell stories. I look forward to read the next episodes !!!!! BTW, the pilot is Django Reinhardt, right ?

haha! that really made me laugh. and then the overwhelming desire to listen to Django. he's a pretty beloved figure in my parent's home. my dad is a guitarist. one of their dogs is named after him. so it was a pretty darn fitting comment. :) and the next episode is up, if you're interested :)

The hand writing made it a bit tough to read a times but I liked how the drawings were all water color and the story itself is very interesting. I'm curious to where it will go, any plans for additional characters later on?

we'll see. there may be other things. the contest side of this is pretty much a joke, so trying to maintain some semblance of enthusiasm for continuing to work on it. the hand writing is something i've battled with a little bit. it's supposed to be a bit scratchy as if it is written by the pilot, but the concerns about losing legibility at times is very real. that's definitely something that would be addressed somewhere down the line if i keep working on it or building the story or simply just when there will be more text. you don't want to lose people because they cant read it, even if that is part of the style overall.

Hehe I didn't know Django Reinhardt was such an important figure in your family ^^ The third episode is perfectly constructed... full of imagination. Sublime.

:) ! yeah, my dad is an amaaazing guitarist. it's kind of ridiculous. and he loves reinhardt. so it was a great comment. thank you! that's really lovely of you to say. the contest definitely has gone a very dark path. so basically the entire time since i submitted my first episode, my comic has been in the top 5 rating wise, and in the top 50ish popularity wise. and thats now with over 800 comics submitted. so it seemed like a really feasible possibility that i would have a shot at being in the top 16 to go to the second round. but in the last two-ish days, people with top rated comics that have tons and tons of friends/followers/whatever have clearly instructed people to go and vote everyone else's comics down severely. so the competition has gotten pretty pointless. unless you have tons of people to fight back by giving you high votes (and since people can only vote once, if all of your friends have already voted once, they can't help by voting again), it pretty much just collapses and hope dies. :/ i'm debating just how much more i'll do of the comic after the fact. if there is even one person interested in seeing where it goes, i'd consider pushing forward.

Hello! I love comics and science fiction, I recently reread some of Stephen King's books. For me, this genre of books is a favourite because you can relax after a hard day at school. I often have to sit up all night writing homework lately, so I don't have enough time for entertainment. But friends offered me https://letsgradeit.com/question-category/topics-for-essay/ , a great service for students that helps write any kind of paper. I do not like to write and for me their help is invaluable!
