I am new to tabbing, so I have a question about how you play parts like these. When you show two different notes on two different strings (like with the b and e#) on top of each other, are they played at the same time? how do you play both of them simultaneously without hitting the strings in-between and after, or are you supposed to play the ones in-between and/or after? I am confused >_< , tabbing guides online do not address this. Sorry if this question is worded weird. e|----------------| B|--------0-------| G|----2-----------| D|2-----------2---| A|0---------------| E|--------4-------|

First: In order to display tabs correctly in your comments, use the pre-tags around it. < pre > YOUR TAB < /pre> About your question: These two notes are supposed to be played simultaneously without strumming all the strings in between, too. Of course this is not possible with a pick, so this is why we will use our fingers. The basic idea of fingerpicking is to play the melody with alternating index and middle finger while your thumb plays the bass. Of course this is just a rule, so there are some exceptions. But you'll get the idea.
