Final Fantasy IX - Vivi's Theme (Duet Version) Song by Nobuo Uematsu Arranged & tabbed by auriplane ([email protected]) I arranged this as a duet, but some people wanted it all on one guitar, so here it is :-) I personally think it's a bit unwieldy. I made this about a year ago, apparently. Standard tuning. Hehe, thanks. But I made this more than a year ago. Personally, I don't think it's a very good tab. Anyway, please don't call me "bro" :-)

Lady Auriplane, this sounds awesome! The bass line is pretty fun to play along with the main melody. Very tricky.
I'd like to see the duet version as well, It must be nice to hear this song in two guitar.

The duet version is on this site :-) I made it first. I recorded this one too, though it sounds kind of bad--you should check out Randolf's recording of my duet!! It made me very happy when they posted it, because it sounds much better than my own recording ^-^

You know, you're right, the duet version is certainly more full sounding. But I like the first half better as a solo. The second half sound much nicer as a duet I think.
I am curious however, why did you decide to jump up to fifth position so much? did you do it to preserve the sound of the notes? because otherwise, It would be easier to play much of this in open position.
P.s. You have some the most interesting compositions on this site, thank you for continuing to post new and exciting things :D

Um, because it's easier.

I suppose the more specific question is: why does the composition favor playing the low D on the A string as opposed to playing it open on the D string, and so on for the G on the D string and the A on the E string? I get the feeling that this is not a final composition, as it is pretty tricky to play - lots of jumping and awkward stretches. But regardless, it sounds really nice as a solo piece. I think that it could benefit from a bit of fine tuning. I'm no good at it though. My intention is not to be offensive with this comment; my intention is only to provide constructive criticism.

Well, it's not a very good tab or anything. But I think the reason I did the D on A is to let the F# on the D string ring out. I don't see any A on the E string, BTW.
