Riddles are really friggin fun. Verily!
The rules:
One riddle at a time. Whoever correctly guesses the riddle (and has the answer confirmed by the riddler) gets to post the next one. They have 48 hours to do so, then the floor is open. (They can also decline to post, and leave the floor open, but c'mon guys, give it a shot.)
The riddler gets to decide whether to give hints, and whether to answer questions. (i.e. It's not 20 questions folks.)
Something that has worked very well is for guessers to post the reasoning behind their guesses--which gives the riddler a chance to steer them along, in an organic fashion. And it keeps people from just randomly guessing.
Riddles are to be made based on Square Soft games (pre-2003) that were released in America. (The reason for this is to limit the field and keep it relatively accessible to all.)
If you are posting a riddle, pick one game to riddle about, and state it in your initial post.
So, the first riddle. It's from Final Fantasy VII:

I'm gonna go with the phoenix summon. Cat's have nine lives but I can give another Phoenix revives party members. I like to make this riddle rhyme so I'll rhyme it with mother (ha, ha :D) oh the irony that death grants you life You get the summon as a result of the mother bird dying. Because you're immoral pricks who chose wrong from right I assume this means the Shinra attacking the fort, or just them in general.

Okay then my next guess is the phoenix downs you get by disturbing the bird's nest on coral mountain. That would make more sense, referring to "you" as the players, who choose to disturb the nest. Plus you get ten of them which is one more than nine. :D Plus you have to fight and kill birds (I assume the parents) to get them. :/

When you said my first guess was wrong I was all, "What?? Oh no you diint." :D I really thought it was right, but the real answer fits better. Good one! I think FF7 is a popular game to riddle with simply cause more people have played it, so more people can get involved. This is another FF7 one, but I'm hoping it will be pretty hard. :D **** Find me by land, or much later by sky When doom is at hand, the first option will die. Twice I'm there when you've escaped via rope; Once while unconscious and regaining hope. It should be noted, I've more than one form-- Sometimes I'm chilling, but usually I'm warm. If you are dextrous, then carry me well To coax divine pow'r from an old corpse-shell.

My first thought is ultima weapon because the first time you fight him it's on land, but the second time you fight him on the airship. More than one form could mean the enemy and the weapon you get. Umm...if you are dextrous, then carry me well--the more hp cloud has the better the weapon is. The last line--you get the ultima weapon by making the Ultima Weapon a corpse XD. But, I think I'm wrong because it doesn't fit with the rest.
